J-1 Visiting & Exchange Students
What is an Exchange Student?If you are currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree at a university or college that has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement with the University of Central Oklahoma to allow you to enroll for classes at UCO for one or two semesters, and to pay only the tuition and fees to your Home University and not to UCO, you are an exchange student. You will be considered a non-degree seeking student to UCO on a J-1 visa.
What is a Visiting or Study USA Student?
You will only be allowed to be a visiting or Study USA student if you are currently attending a Bachelor's or Master’s degree at the university or college who has the official partnership with the University of Central Oklahoma. You will be required to pay tuition and fees to UCO while you are a visiting student in the United States of America. You will be considered a non-degree seeking student to UCO on a J-1 visa.

To be admitted as visiting student, you will need to supply the following:
- Undergraduate Online Application or Graduate Online Application
- Application Fee - $50 ($60 for Graduate) non-refundable processing fee
- Academic Credentials (Transcripts)
- English Proficiency
- Bank Statement
- Certificate of Financial Resources (Non-US Sponsor)
- Affidavit of Support (US Sponsor)
- UCO Insurance Form
*If you are seeking for admissions into the degree offered by the UCO School of Music, you will be required to submit the International Audition Submission Form.
All required documents will be uploaded with your electronic application. Any missing documents will delay the processing of your application.
Admission to the University of Central Oklahoma Exchange or Visiting Student Program is based on completion of at least one semester at your current university or college. A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50 or its equivalent calculated based on UCO Grading system is required.
